Certified providers (prearranged funeral trust funds)

Oregon Revised Statute 97.810 - 97.994

Prearranged funeral trusts are prepaid funeral plans that provide funeral or cemetery merchandise or services. These prearrangement or preconstruction contracts may only be sold by a certified provider.

OAR 441-930-0010 through OAR 441-930-0350 implement the registration and certification requirements of providers by addressing issues such as the application for registration and certification, record keeping, annual reports, examinations, prohibited practices, complaints and maintenance of funds in trust.

As of September 30, 2011, there were 219 registered certified providers.

As of July 1, 2011, the annual fee for certified providers is $390, and the annual fee for a limited operations certified provider is $80 (per 2011 - HB 5014).
